Precision Piecing Workshop
Ok quilters, ask yourself these questions:
- Are your points precise and sharp, or do some of the tips get cut off?
- Do your seams intersect perfectly, or end up a little wonky?
- Do your eight-point diamond stars pucker in the middle?
- Do your pieced curves wrinkle instead of flowing in a smooth line?
- Are your quilt blocks the right size when you finish them?
Would you like to learn how to conquer these common quilting flaws, as well as master partial-seam construction, Y-seams, mitered corners and easily change the size of your quilt block?
The Precision Piecing class series starts in September and is for confident beginners and intermediate quilters who want to improve their accuracy and gain new skills. As you make this nine-block sampler quilt you will learn the methods and techniques to build your skill level through each increasingly challenging block. Billie will guide you through the steps for each block and show you how easy it is to achieve virtually perfect pieced blocks.
You can sign up for all eleven classes, or just one if you want to learn that specific technique, but it is recommended that you attend the first session to learn the fundamental principles for precision piecing. The quilt, as shown, measures 72" x 72", which will make a generous throw or wall hanging. Each class is $30. There is a one-time $30 fee for the workbook payable to the instructor. A supply list will be emailed to you after you have registered.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
