Feather Play
Feathers are one of those quilting motifs lots of quilters aspire to but often struggle with. We want graceful feathers but get blobs instead. Want an easier way? In this class you will learn the basics of creating beautiful feathers using Westalee templates. You will get to play with four different size feathers as well as sample feathered wreaths and feathered leaves. This class will get your creative juices flowing when you discover how easy feathers are using Westalee templates.
Lunch, drinks, & snacks will be provided.
Supply List
Required:
- Sewing machine in good working order capable of free motion quilting
- Machine extension table (Sew Steady or Machine brand specific)
- 40 - 50 weight cotton thread
- New 90-14 top stitch needles
- Scissors
- Fabric marking tool
- A quilt sandwich of 1/2 yard of 2 fabrics
- Ruler work presser foot for your machine, either Sew Steady or a brand specific foot
- 12" Westalee arc template for your machine
- Spacing gauge
- 4 piece Westalee feather template set
- 10 or 12 inch Westalee Feather spine
Optional:
- Top loading self-threading needles
- Ruler work glider
- Free motion quilting gloves
- Crosshair square*

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
