Art Quilt Techniques - Playing with Texture
In the world of fabrics there are two kinds of texture - visual and physical. Visual Texture relates to the design printed onto the fabric, you can't really feel the difference by touching it, while Physical Texture is tactile. Close your eyes and run your fingers over a piece of velvet and then a piece of denim and you will feel the difference in texture. It also will present a visual contrast with the way that light is absorbed and/or refracted; you can actually see as well as feel the texture. For this project, you will create a panel with the word 'Texture' (or any other word you would like to feature) fused and stitched onto it, making the letters from a variety of textured fabric to delight the touch as well as the eye.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
