Art Quilt Techniques: Strip Pieced Poetry
Led by Helene Knott
These classes go beyond standard quilting techniques and explore the more artistic side of quilting. In this Art Quilt techniques session you will learn an easy way to do neat accurate calligraphy on fabric and then strip piece the verses with other fabrics to make charming a little quilt. The quilt can be any size you wish but a 9” x 12” project is recommended. You may choose a short poem or quote by a favorite author or write your own but t keep it short – no more than a few verses.

Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
