Color Theory Basics
Led by Helene Knott
This hands-on class is based on my popular Color Theory program that I present at guilds and other teaching venues. The class is intended to teach the relationships between colors and values, help build confidence in selecting and planning colors for your quilting or sewing projects, and lessen the chance that you will be dissatisfied with a completed project. In class, students will build a Color Wheel of assorted fabrics. The wheel will allow you to identify colors and see their transitional relationship. After the color wheel has been created, a series of simple exercises will be carried out with fabrics pasted to paper to understand the most important factors in working with color and achieving predictable results. The resulting workbook will be a valuable reference tool for your future projects.
