Intro to Machine Embroidery: Snowflake Kisses Pillow
Embroidery machines are great for embellishing your projects and garments with pretty motifs and personalizing your items with monograms, but they can do SEW much more! In this class you will combine embroidery and quilting skills to make a patchwork pillow top. This cute snowman features a chenille cuff on his hat and the cursive backstitch sentiment is embroidered in the hoop. You'll sew a pinwheel block and piece all the elements together on your sewing machine, then finish with a classic quilt binding for the perfect piped border.
Supply List
- You will need a 6 x 10 inch hoop if possible. A 5 x 7 inch hoop will also work.
- Either Cut-away or power mesh stabilizer
- Fabric 1: wording background 1 Fat sixteenth of fabric
- Fabric 2: Pinwheel A and Binding 1 Fat eighth
- Fabric 3: Pinwheel B 1 Fat sixteenth
- Fabric 4: Small borders and pillow back 1 Fat eighth
- Fabric 5: Snowman Background 1 Fat sixteenth
- Fabric 6: Applique Snowman 1 Fat sixteenth
- Fabric 7: Fabric scrap
- Fabric 8: Chenille Brim 1 Fat sixteenth
- Fabric 9: Muslin 12 Fat sixteenth
- A Kimberbell pillow form 8 inch size
- A 9 x 9 inch piece of batting
- Paper tape and regular sewing supplies and threads of your choice

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
