Maker Apron
Led by Jayne Vetter
Construct a unique Maker Apron for your favorite Artist, Chef, Barista, Sewist, Gardener, etc. Jayne will provide you with ideas to Customize and/or Upcycle your own unique Maker Apron. Incorporate one or more custom changes into your apron design.
Customize your apron: Design pocket style and choose location. Increase durability and fun with topstitching thread. Bring your apron to the next level by adding hardware, grommets & rivets. Rivets and Installer will be provided in class.
This class (two, 3-hour sessions) utilizes the Apron pattern from PALMER/PLETSCH. This unisex pattern for child to adults comes in four sizes and is designed for beginning sewists. Make this apron upcycled or not.
Come with your own sewing machine. Student should be familiar with basic operation of their sewing machine prior to the class (threading, filling a bobbin, replacing the needle, etc.)
Suggested Woven Fabric: Canvas, Waxed-Canvas, Denim, Twill, Quilting Cotton, etc.
(optional) Upcycle materials: Surplus Canvas, leather belts, Men’s Button-Down Shirt with embroidered handkerchief, Jeans, Handbag Hardware, Upholstery Samples, etc.
The Apron Pattern (not included in the class fee) is available at Montavilla. 15% class discount can be used to purchase pattern and supplies. See Supply List for sizing & yardage.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
