Quilting 102 - Skill Builder
This is a three-hour class for beginning quilters who are ready to expand their block repertoire. Students should be proficient with ¼" seams, rotary cutting and squaring up blocks. We will practice making four very versatile blocks that are used in many different designs.
- Half Square Triangle (HST)
- Split Quarter Square Triangle
- Hourglass Unit
- Flying Geese.
We will show alternative methods for each block, allowing students to choose the method that works best for them. No special rulers are required but we'll demonstrate several tools that are helpful in ensuring accuracy. These are listed on the supply list as "optional".

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
