Seashells As Art Stitchery

In quilting, there are traditional motifs that appear repeatedly in variations on quilts, and there are designs that originate outside of the quilting box, designs that escalate a basic quilting job to the level of art. The sources and inspiration for these unusual motifs are endless, but among them are seashells. The seashell is one of nature's most beautiful natural art forms and comes in various shapes and sizes. In this class, you will use a seashell as your muse and motif to create an exquisite piece of stitchery. You can choose a complex or straightforward shell – I will have some designs to choose from, or you can draft and create your design from a shell of your choosing. After completing the stitching, you can enhance your stitchery with colored pencils or paint.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
