Thread Painting
Led by Helene Knott
Thread painting may be easier than you think; it's basically 'coloring' with thread instead of paint. Though confidence with free-motion stitching is recommended for this class, precise stitching skills are not necessary to create a beautiful thread-painted motif; an enthusiastic novice can achieve stunning results (see additional photos of student work). This project offers several pattern options: a coloring-book-style butterfly in a couple of sizes suitable for all skill levels, or a choice of birds that require a more 'painterly' technique and better free-motion stitching skills. Students are also welcome to bring their own designs if they wish to try something unique. Please reach out to the teacher for more information if you would like a specific design of your own.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
