Art Quilt Techniques: Critter Collage
Led by Helene Knott
This is a fun process based on a paper-craft technique. Students will create 2 to 4 separate fused panels featuring a primitive animal fetish motif rendered in colorful collaged fabrics, then slice them into quarters and reassemble them in a Stack & Whack method to create 2 individual panels that can be finished as separate mini quilts. Or make 4 fused collages and join them into a medium-sized, multi-block quilt. These quirky quilts are a perfect opportunity to embellish with a variety of decorative stitches in your sewing machine. They are also great for other embellishment techniques, such as beading.

Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
