Autumn Leaf Fall Sampler

These three-dimensional leaves are machine-stitched, fun, relatively easy to make, and remarkably realistic. Real leaves are the source for the templates used to create these ruffled fabric facsimiles. Batiks are lovely, and you can enhance the leaves with colored pencils for realism. For this project, you will make an assortment of leaves in fall colors and stitch them to a long, narrow background. You can use the finished sampler as a lovely fall door quilt or table runner. Alternatively, you can add these 3-D leaves to clothing or art quilts as an embellishment, make them into ornaments, or turn large leaves into table mats or mug rugs. Once you learn the process, you will want to make lots of them. They are a beautiful way to use up leftover scraps of fabric.

Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
