In this class you will make a panel of leafy or floral ‘lace’. Botanical motifs are layered and fused then fussy cut and stitched over a ground work of machine made lace composed from decorative yarns or cords. The resulting lace can be used as a table runner or mat (perfect for holidays if you choose appropriate fabric motifs); or you can use it as a scarf, incorporate the lace into another project or simply enjoy as is.For a first time project, I recommend starting with a smaller table mat or narrow scarf in the class, you will need to make the mesh ground first before the motifs are appliquéd and a small project will allow you to learn the entire process in class. Once you have the process down, you can tackle larger projects. Skill Level: confident beginner (a basic familiarity with a free-motion stitching is recommended)
