In The Mix and/or Under Cover
This class offers TWO different projects, which sew together in a similar process. Choose one of these covers to make in class, but learn the techniques to make both projects.
In the Mix keeps your mixer dust-free and adds a decorative touch to the kitchen. Mixer covers in three sizes fit popular stand mixers. Pockets on each side conveniently store manuals, recipes and mixer accessories. (Sample pictured is a medium size)
Under Cover protects your sewing machine while adding a decorative touch to the room. Cover features slip pockets on front and back, a zippered pocket on the one side, and a mesh slip pocket on the other side. For easy access to the machines handle there is an opening at the top. Flaps with magnetic snaps or Velcro cover the opening. Sewing Machine covers come in three sizes. (Sample pictured is a medium size)
Patterns designed byAnnie appeal to sewists of all ages and levels. byAnnie projects incorporate sewing with foam stabilizer & mesh, machine quilting, sewing zippers, preparing & attaching bias binding. The detailed instructions can be a little overwhelming so let retired high school sewing instructor & Palmer Pletsch Certified Instructor, Jayne Vetter guide you in the construction & completion of these professional looking projects.
Homework prior to Day 1 will involve attaching main fabric and lining fabric on either side of foam stabilizer. Jayne will provide you with information on how to do this.
Day 1 – Machine quilt, cut out & label pieces, seal seams, iron on & prepare bias binding. Homework will involve completing anything not finished on Day 1.
Day 2 - Sew cover together
For your convenience a materials kit (with or without fabric) can be purchased from Jayne. Jayne will contact participants with information about kits. Pattern/s not included but available for purchase at Montavilla Sewing Centers. 20% class participant discount can be used to purchase pattern/s. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
