Machine Quilting Workshop

This comprehensive class will cover the basics of machine quilting in depth including tools, materials, techniques and how to choose a quilting design. You will work with a variety of designs and techniques on a small sampler. It’s best to learn and perfect your skills on a smaller piece before tackling larger projects. Once you are comfortable with the techniques and what your machine is capable of, you can work your way up to larger quilts which require quite a bit more focus and control to manage the bulky layers of fabric and batting.

This class will cover quilting on your domestic sewing machine in depth. In the first session you will get an overview on the tools and materials, how to troubleshoot common machine issues and do some quilting with a walking foot on an over-sized 9-Patch sampler. In the second session we will cut loose with a free-motion quilting foot to explore variety of ways to quilt motifs and textures that put even intricate designs within your reach. Though the project may look intricate, this class is geared for beginners.
