Ultimate Travel Bag

The Ultimate Travel Bag pattern designed ByAnnie. The perfect travel companion, this functional bag includes a comfortable padded adjustable carrying handy strap across the back to help secure the bag to rolling luggage. With a zippered and slip pockets on the front, back, and ends as well as a full zippered mesh pocket and three more slip pockets inside, the bag will keep everything organized and close at hand. This quilted bag measures 18 ½” L x 13 ¾”H x 8” D, large enough & strong enough to carry a small sewing machine.

byAnnie’s patterns appeal to sewists of all ages and levels. However, this large bag is not a simple project and will require lots of homework. The detailed instructions can be a little overwhelming so let retired high school sewing instructor & Palmer Pletsch Certified Instructor, Jayne Vetter guide you in the construction & completion of this professional looking bag.

• Day 1 (3 hours) – Jayne will explain how to prepare fabric/stabilizer for quilting, give suggestions on quilting and the cutting layout. During first class students will prepare & quilt one set. Homework: Quilt Foam/Lining/Outside sets. After quilting follow the cutting layout for the quilted fabric, coordinating fabric & mesh. Written directions with photos will be provided to help you complete this process.
• Day 2 (3 hours) – Seal all quilted pieces, sew Interior and exterior pockets, assemble bag bottom. Hwk: Sew Buttons
• Day 3 (3 hours) – Assemble zipper panel, shape back bottom bottom and sew together. Hwk: Prepare Bias Binding
• Day 4 (3 hours) – Bind Shoulder Pad, attach bag Front & Back, Bind Seams
