Karla Alexander

Quilt designer and author, Karla Alexander lives in beautiful Salem OR. As a featured artist on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson and again on The Quilt Show with Ricky and Alex, she has authored eight quilt books, published by Martingale and Co, That Patchwork Place. In addition to her books, she designs and releases patterns under the name Saginaw St Quilt Co and is co-owner of Cascade Quilt Retreats. Karla has been a contributor to many quilt magazines and calendars as well as a featured Artist for Island Batiks. Karla is on the design team for Creative Grid Rulers having designed 8 specialty rulers to use with her methods. Karla's philosophy regarding quilting is to enjoy the process, learn from your experience and take what you learn from one project to the next. As a teacher she enthusiastically inspires her students to discover and create their own individual style in their quilt making journeys. With all the many things to worry about, she believes quilting isn't one of them, but rather a time to experience the "creative flow" to continue to learn and enjoy!
